These teams have exposed and explained systemic inequality in hostile media environments ranging from Kenya and Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan and Myanmar. She was also a Google News Scholar and a Fulbright Research Fellow where she developed her commitment and approach to creating a more inclusive environment for data-driven investigative journalism.
